How much does ODEN cost?
Three options. Free gives you 1,000 searches a month at no cost, no card. Pro is €29/month for 6,000 searches, cancel anytime. Top-up is €7 for an extra 1,000 searches — a one-time purchase that never expires and stacks on top of any plan.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 searches per month for free, with the full retrieval pipeline and no credit card required. That matches the free tier of the leading AI-search APIs.
What counts as a search?
One search is one successful call to the /search endpoint. Failed requests aren't counted, so you only spend quota on calls that return a result.
What happens if I go over my monthly quota?
Once your monthly quota is used up, further calls return HTTP 429 — unless you have top-up searches available, which are spent automatically. Add a €7 top-up for 1,000 more, or upgrade to Pro for a larger monthly quota.
Do top-up searches expire?
No. Top-ups are a persistent balance that carries over month to month and is only drawn down as you use it. They never expire, and they're spent only after your monthly quota runs out.
Can I cancel Pro anytime?
Yes. Pro is a monthly Stripe subscription with no lock-in. Cancel whenever you like and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
How is ODEN different from Tavily and other search APIs?
ODEN honors robots.txt and EU TDM opt-out before a page is read, and returns a synthesized answer with citation metadata instead of reproduced text. Pricing is flat and transparent: a fixed monthly quota plus one-time top-ups that never expire.

Are search results cached or kept fresh across calls?
ODEN uses short-lived caching where appropriate. Cached responses can return faster, while fresh retrieval depends on the query and external source sites. The response indicates whether a cached result was used, so applications can decide when to request a new lookup.
